Brilliant little piece of Typography… and truly defines my 14 years of therapy.
Apparently, in advertising, as long as you speak English you can work wherever you like. In fact, we are being told the fastest developing ad nations are in other parts of the world, such as Dubai and Brazil. I would love to work closer to home, to be closer to my family, and am in fact looking at working in Montreal.
I love Montreal, and for those of you who haven’t yet visited, it is quite the treat. The culture is completely different than that of anywhere I have visited (which isn’t very much) or imagined would be. Amazing opportunities are to be had for creative people in Montreal. One thing I have found in visiting Quebec, is if you don’t speak or attempt to speak French, most of the time you won’t even get a response. If you are fairly fluent, as my father is, you may even feel your French is looking down upon the way that you speak it.
Or, for my English speaking friends (or for those who do speak French can ridicule my poor use of the language and get a sense of what I was attempting to say), so I’m looking for French classes, though not beginner because I don’t think I quite fit in the beginner category, where I can learn grammar and general French language.
I want to be able to say that I am bilingual, as I consider myself French-Canadian.

I must admit, I’m falling behind on all my social networking thanks to school work.
By the way, add me to Twitter!
Though I do admit it is partially my fault as I’m terrible at time management or keeping up with my calendar. I like to be organized, but it’s something I need to work hard to do so I usually end up not being as organized as I would have liked and I do everything in a non-linear way. haha
P.S. School is almost done for the year! Just a few more weeks until summer break! :)
So.. tired. Too much .. advertising. Too much .. shoe polish. Too much … OMNOMNOM CUTE PUPPIES!
Just another cute distraction from my shoe polish research!
PS: If you have the time, and have ever used shoe polish please take this quick survey! I go to advertising school and it would really help me out with a big project! Just click here.
Much love & Merci!
Guerilla marketing realization to advertise the new product details of the new Nissan Micra as for example the park assist technology.
This is one of those, “Shit. Why didn’t I think of that?!” ideas. Love it.

Just watching people reblog or like the Nike Women’s Spec, I’m noticing a trend. The majority of people reblogging or liking, are young women who’s profile’s are pretty much a personal blog. These women blog about things like: cosmetics, fashion, day-to-day stuff, and things they just happen to like.
Very interesting trend. Maybe blogging will have many, many benefits. Blogging becomes more and more appealing as I go!
I’ve had my eye on this ad for a few weeks, watching who would repost it, if they would repost it and so on.
This ad I thought was very interesting. It went viral on Facebook, with many women 16-26 reposting it or using it as their profile pictures. They were tagging their friends in it and exclaiming that the ad is them to a “T”! The women identified the most with the copy.
As it turns out, according to nikeblog.com, this is actually a spec ad! Read the article here. Which completely surprised me. When I first saw it I didn’t think it was a spec ad. I thought the typeface was wrong for what Nike would usually use, and the photo wasn’t as polished, but I think that’s what hit it big with some women on Facebook. I really think the Facebook trends in response to this spec ad are really insightful. Nike’s social media team should be keeping an eye on this one, if they already aren’t.
Though this spec ad fooled me into thinking it was Nike’s, even though they basically ripped off all the copy from the original campaign (compared at the same link from above here), what I liked the most is how much unmeasured media coverage they’re getting through sharing this spec ad, not the real big butt campaign, Facebook.
It’s so cool watching it spread like wild fire. I love advertising. :)
tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?
My earliest human memory is pulling a traveling coffee mug down off of the counter and being scalded with hot coffee. I was still in diapers and I think I was even wearing a pink shirt. I remember it as though I were someone else watching it happen.
When I brought up the memory to my mother, I explained it thinking it was my sister, but she told me that was me it happened to. Weird what the brain will do to defend itself! :)
The title says it all. Ask me what I was doing half an hour ago and I’ll say, market research. Ask me what I’ll be doing tomorrow night and I’ll have to tell you, market research. Right now? Research. Two hours from now? Sleeping … but dreaming of market research.
I can’t say I don’t like it. In fact I love it, which contradicts what my research professor said, ”You hopelessly creative people should hate this course with a passion by the end of the semester.”
I can’t say general research is my favourite thing, but I do love field market research. I love asking the unsuspecting consumer the most outrageous questions, or even basic ones. Watching how they reply is the fun part. And I almost never find it awkward because I have the “It’s for a school project” safety net and anything can be an insight into an execution or concept. There are no wrong answers, or reactions in this business. And I love it. :)
I’ve decided to blog. I will try and be as candid as possible, but it will be a challenge for me.
I’m looking to blog about art, advertising and other relevant topics. If you have any topic suggestions, or wish to hear my thoughts on a topic, feel free to suggest one.
I will leave you today with one of my sombre thoughts: 6:45 a.m. wake up call for an appointment, then my advertising research class. Boo.
Stay tuned.
